Successful Mid-Year Board Meeting

The AAIA Board members met for two full days in October. Normally this mid-year board meeting would be in-person to allow the board members to collaborate as a group and break out into smaller committees to address various association initiatives. However, this year, we were forced to go virtual. Luckily technology allowed us to still collaborate as a full group and even break out into separate virtual rooms to work on committee projects.

The following topics were addressed during the meeting days:
  • 2021 conference planning
  • organization finances and 2021 budget
  • potential bylaw amendments
  • webinar planning
  • website functionality
  • future member email communication
Additionally, a task list including short-term and long-term initiatives was created and tasks were assigned to individual committees. The Board discussed formalizing high level initiatives into a multi-year strategic plan.

The Annual Business Meeting was held during the second day of the mid-year board meeting utilizing Zoom. Representatives from various Airport and Associate Memberships joined the Annual Business Meeting presentation. The treasurer's report, annual audit results, election results, overview of the new website, and a preview of the 2021 conference were shared with those in attendance.
